I am a big fan of Dermalogica’s moisturizers. I use one every morning and night, and it has done wonders for my skin. My skin has become very dry since I arrived in Auckland, and I needed a moisturizer than could bring back the balance of my skin. I looked high and low for one that was effective and within my budget, and ended up purchasing the Intensive Moisture Balance from Dermalogica. I’m finishing up my tube now, and am definitely purchasing another one when this one runs out completely.
Anyway, as I was browsing www.thisismeagankerr.com, I saw that she was having a giveaway of Dermalogica’s new and improved Sheer Tint! Honestly, I have never tried a tinted moisturizer, but I’ve always been curious about them. I heard that Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer is THE best, but I have yet to try it. I joined Meagan’s giveaway, and was lucky enough to be one of the winners! I received the package about a week later and tried the product instantly, and gave my initial reviews on Snapchat (add me: lizalizaliza :p).
The first thing I noticed about it was that it smelled soooooooooooooo good! It has this very light floral scent that just has this pleasant olfactory impact! I chose the Light shade which suit my skin. The tint is very very translucent, you can barely even see it actually, after you blend it into your skin. It is not very emollient, so if your skin is dry, you would need to apply moisturizer before applying this. I know it sounds odd that you would need to apply a moisturizer before applying your tinted moisturizer – but, in my case, I needed to do that. I tried it on my bare face and it just turned out flaky (my skin is really on the dry side nowadays). What I do love about it is that it has SPF20, so if I need to rush out to do errands, I can easily grab this instead of having to apply sunscreen and a light foundation. Cliché, yes, but it hits two birds with one stone.
Product Fully Blended
I just sort of wished that it was more moisturizing, so that I could use it alone, because I actually like the tint better compared to my YSL CC Creme which makes me a tad darker than I really am. Maybe during summer this would suit my skin better. But until then, I would rate this a 4/5. 🙂
